Urban Lighthouse Farm is a new vertical farm located in Mount Uniacke, NS. We are excited to be a part of the food system in Nova Scotia and looking forward to playing a role in stabilizing local production in our province. We believe we have revolutionized that way we grow fresh produce. Our vertical farm utilizes the latest technology to provide a controlled environment that ensures optimal growing conditions for our crops.
Our mission is simple – grow amazing for to amazing people. We use hydroponic systems, LED lighting, and automate controls to grow a wide variety of crops year-round. Our crops are free from pesticides and herbicides, and we use organic seeds to ensure our customers enjoy fresh and flavourful food.
We believe in sustainable and responsible farming practices that are good for both the environment and our community. By growing our crops close to our customers, we reduce the carbon footprint of transportation, and by using significantly less water to grow our crops, we help conserve this precious resource.
Our team is dedicated to innovation and continues to improve on our innovative production method. We are currently testing ways to reuse growing inputs to reduce food waste created during production and diverting the harvest clippings to grow additional food. It is an exciting time for Urban Lighthouse Farm. Our year-round production can play a key role in our local food system and the excitement around our closed loop farming system will allow for future expansion of our farm.
