Fish Out Of Water Acadian Kitchen: A grassroots project that has come to fruition through community support, a passion for food, and nostalgia. Fish Out of Water will be selling traditional Acadian cuisine made with local products from a small food truck. Growing up in an Acadian family surrounded by gardeners and fishermen, the ingredients we used were always fresh, local, and simple. My family, like many others in the Maritimes, cooked Acadian recipes that had been handed down from past generations. Often, there were no written recipes at all. My hope is to keep these recipes alive, and to utilize products fished and farmed within Cape Breton.
