The 5K Café
5K Café: The Chain of Lakes Trail is a paved multi-use recreational trail that starts on Joseph Howe Drive across from the Superstore, and continues through to Bayers Lake Business Park. The trail is really quite scenic, and well used by runners, walkers, bikers, strollers, families and their children. Named for the five Chain Lakes along which the trail runs, it features numerous water views and stopping points along the way.
At about the halfway mark, you’ll find the 5K Café, and Steve Maly. Already well known around town as a superb sandwich maker, Steve and his partner Danny Hewitt, have come up with a place that really adds to the experience on the trail, and a fresh alternative in Bayers Lake.
Baked treats, grilled cheese sandwiches, paninis, salads and of course, specialty coffees and cold beer can all be found - just steps off the trail.
