The Port Grocer, Cafe & Art Space, Port Medway
The Port Grocer is owned and operated by Annabelle Singleton and Debra Melanson.
The Port Grocer’s mission is to provide year-round access to locally produced food, products and resources for Queens and Lunenburg County residents and visitors. The Port Grocer, Cafe & Art Space (aka The Port Grocer) strives to create an open and welcoming community hub; where young and old can come together to eat, learn, share and grow.
The Port’s core values are to be a business with a conscience; to respect and protect the environment; and to lead by example. Their goals are to create a community hub of sustainability by providing access to healthy, wholesome food as well as being a centre for art, music, culture and community. The Port supports other, local and small businesses and makes “buying local” a priority. Ultimately The Port aims to be a space for the other local small businesses to come together.
Our fast-casual dining experience may not offer full table service, but instead incorporates menu boards and counter service with high quality food and a comfortable atmosphere. Though the concept is still relatively new to Canada, it is growing as a dining option positioned between fast food and casual dining. The Cafe’s menu focuses on freshly prepared deli counter items including made to order sandwiches, salads and mains as well as soups, fair-trade coffee and teas, plus Deb’s fresh baked goods.
The Port Grocer is located in centre of Port Medway on the Port Medway Rd.
